Advantages of Cross Country Tyre

Good traction and stability: Cross country forklift tyres are designed with low-pressure, wide-base, off-road tread pattern, which helps to provide good traction and stability when operating on ungroomed natural ground, such as sandy, muddy, snowy conditions;

Good abrasion and puncture resistance: The carcasses of pneumatic tyres for cross country forklifts are made up of all rubber, which makes them less deformed when subjected to the same load, stable in operation, require no inflation, and resistant to penetration and abrasion, which greatly enhances the working hours.

Good comfort and shock absorption performance: The middle rubber of the pneumatic tyres for cross country forklifts is fully elastic, which can efficiently absorb the vibration generated when the cross country forklift is running, bringing good comfort and drivability to the forklift driver, and at the same time, the shock absorption helps to avoid the damage to the forklift.

High safety: Cross country forklift tyres has puncture-resistant, tear-resistant, abrasion-resistant and have a long service life, which makes them safer and more secure, and they are a high necessity in cross country forklift tyres selection.

Adaptation to harsh road conditions: Cross country forklift tyres can safely load, unload, stack and carry materials on uneven ground such as mud, fields, mountains, etc., which is suitable for working under harsh road conditions.

Cross Country Forklift Tyre

Features of Cross Country Tyre

This cross country forklift tyre is a pneumatic tyre designed for small cross country forklifts. This kind of tyres have abrasion resistance and good adhesion performance, which can provide stable support and good passability in rough terrain conditions.

Compared with solid tyres, these tyres have better flexibility and comfort, and can provide good driving performance on flatter ground; deep tread pattern enhances grip and anti-skid, and can work on rugged ground, such as sandy, muddy, snowy and other natural ground.

Application of Cross Country Tyre

Cross-country (XC) tires are designed for the demands of off-road cycling, balancing low weight and fast rolling with grip for varied terrain, including dirt, dust, and loose surfaces. They feature numerous small, closely-spaced knobs and are used on XC mountain bikes for racing, training, and trail riding, offering a good blend of speed and versatility.

Production Process of Cross Country Tyre

Material preparation and compounding: Manufacturers source various materials like natural and synthetic rubber, carbon black, chemicals, steel, and textiles (rayon, nylon, polyester, and aramid fibers).

Component manufacturing: The compounded rubber for the tread is extruded into a continuous strip, shaped by a screw-type extruder and then cooled to stabilize dimensions. The tread is then cut to the appropriate length for the specific tire size.

Assembly: The different components, including the innerliner, plies, beads, sidewalls, and tread, are assembled on a tire building machine, typically in a cylindrical shape.

Molding: The green tire is placed inside a curing press, which functions like a large clamshell.

Cooling: After vulcanization, the tire is removed from the mold and allowed to cool, often on a post-cure inflator (pci) to stabilize its shape.

FAQ

Q: What tyres do pro XC riders use?

A: They are easily the most underrated tire on the market, and they shouldn't be because they're actually one of the best.

Q: What is the best tire width for a cross-country bike?

A: A cross-country bike will have tires in the 1.9" to 2.25" width range. Trail and all-mountain bikes will have tires in the 2.25" to 2.4" width range. Downhill bikes, which are meant to withstand the abuse of drops and rock gardens, are typically equipped with tires up to 2.5" wide.

Q: Do wider bike tires corner better?

A: If you like to corner fast, you want the widest tires possible. Even on smooth pavement, the difference between 30 mm and 38 mm-wide tires is very noticeable. On rough surfaces and especially on gravel, it's really no contest.

Q: Why do pros use tubular tires?

A: Tubular tires provide an even and reliable contact area where the tread meets the ground. This improves grip, control, predictability, and allow the cyclist to use the lateral part of the tread.

Q: Do wider tires mean more grip?

A: Dry grip and performance are generated with the footprint's road surface contact. Since wide tires provide a larger road contact area, they are able to significantly improve its handling and maneuvering, even during their high speed applications.

Q: Do pro riders ride tubeless?

A: With modern-day bikes providing more tyre clearance, most teams in the WorldTour have made the move to tubeless tyres. Wider rubber, and therefore lower tyre pressures has led to more reliable tubeless setups.
